Day 1 Belfast

Stone Celtic Cross, copyright Failte Ireland On arrival at Belfast International airport a professional local guide greets and accompanies us by motor coach on a sightseeing tour of Belfast. Belfast is now one of Europe's most popular cities, attracting people for its vibrancy, warmth and charm. There is a thriving cultural scene combined with a unique heritage feel, from the industrial dockyards where the world famous 'Titanic' was born to the revitalised Waterfront and architectural gems of the Grand Opera House and City Hall.

Day 2 Mourne Mountains – Downpatrick – Mount Stewart Gardens

This morning view the breathtaking scenery of the Mourne Mountains with a circular tour through Newry to the coastal town of Kilkeel and on to Newcastle. We pause in Downpatrick to see the 19th Century Gothic Cathedral and burial place of St. Patrick. Later travel along the banks of Strangford Lough to Mount Stewart and its award winning gardens before returning to Belfast.

Day 3 Glens of Antrim – Giant's Causeway – Derry

Today we take a drive along the scenic coastal road of Northern Ireland – an area of outstanding natural beauty. The diverse landscapes of the famous nine Glens of Antrim evoke images of a magical past shrouded in myth and legend. Discover such legends with a visit to the World Heritage Site of Giant's Causeway. Here we learn the story of Finn McCool and his rival Benandonner and take a walk around the fascinating honeycombed rock formations. This afternoon a visit is included to the Old Bushmills Distillery, Ireland's oldest licensed whiskey distillery dating back to 1608.

Day 4 Derry

This morning a local guide joins us for an informative tour of historic Derry. Derry has been inhabited since the 6th Century when St Columba founded a monastery here and is one of the finest examples of a walled city in Europe. This afternoon is at leisure.

Day 5 Armagh – Belfast

Leaving Derry we first visit the Ulster American Folk Park, which tells the story of emigration from Ulster to America in the 18th and 19th Centuries. Continuing on to Armagh we explore Ireland's Pagan links with a visit to Navan Fort and Interpretive Centre before returning to Belfast.
