The delightful town of Sidmouth is our base for this fascinating tour including the UNESCO World Heritage Site coastline of East Devon and Dorset, the historic county town of Dorchester with its literary links to Thomas Hardy and the seaside town of Lyme Regis.

Day 1 Travel to the hotel in Sidmouth with a recommended en route visit to Kingston Lacy to see the outstanding art collection including paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck, Titian and Brueghel, it also houses one of the largest private collections of Egyptian artefacts in the UK.
Day 2 After breakfast, depart for a full day's excursion, by coach, with a local blue badge guide. The day features Abbotsbury, National Trust properties prominent in the life of Thomas Hardy and Roman Dorchester.
Day 3 This Morning's excursion explores the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast, famous for fossil hunting. In the afternoon there's an opportunity to spend time in the ever popular town of Sidmouth with its Esplanade and wealth of small independent shops and cafes.
Day 4 Today sees a change of pace with a trip on the historic Seaton to Colyton Electric Tramway. Then it's back aboard the coach for a visit to the unspoilt resort and fishing port of Lyme Regis.
Day 5 Return home with a stop at Compton Acres gardens. Built in 1924 this is a wonderful historic garden, of late Victorian Mixed Style. There are seven distinct gardens to wander around and enjoy, including the famous Italian and Japanese Gardens.
