Dome of the Rock, Jerusalem

The Holy Land

The 'Holy Land' of Israel is sacred to the world's three monotheistic faiths: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Tides of immigration over millennia have ensured the history is both rich and intense and that there are sites of archeological, cultural and religious interest for visitors of every persuasion. A walk through the narrow, cobbled streets of Jerusalem is inspiring, while further afield you can explore the Sea of Galilee, the cities of Tiberias and Jericho, the hilltop fortress of Masada and the caves at Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Visiting Eilat's Red Sea coral reefs and crossing the border to Egypt or Jordan broadens the horizons even further.

Starting in Jaffa, visit the Mount of Beatitudes, sail on the Sea of Galilee and discover Capernaum and Tiberius. After stopping at the Jordan River continue to Jerusalem, the highlight of any tour to Israel. Explore the city, including the Garden of Gethsemane, the Via Dolorosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Western 'Wailing' Wall and the Mount of Olives with its wonderful views over the city. Continue to Bethlehem, Bethany, the Dead Sea and Qumran.
