Vienna, Budapest and Cruising the Danube
This tour combines two of the most exciting and historic cities in Europe, while also featuring a day cruise on the romantic River Danube to connect the two. Located in the centre of Europe Vienna, as the seat of empire, has always attracted the greatest artists, musicians and architects. Budapest, as the capital city of Hungary has its share of great architecture and offers a cultural counterpoint to Vienna.

Day 1 Fly to Vienna where you will met by your guide and transported to your hotel.
Day 2 Morning walking tour of Vienna with St Stephen's Cathedral, the Grabena and the old streets of the inner city. After free time for lunch, transfer to the Belvedere Palaces with their fine art collections (amongst them Klimt and Schiele) for a guided tour. Spend the evening in a hilly, wine growing suburb and enjoy a traditional Viennese Heuriger dinner (included) with wine.
Day 3 A morning tour to the Spanish Riding School with a guided tour, on to the Kunsthistorisches Museum or the Hundertwasser Museum. Afternoon at leisure to explore.
Day 4 Transfer to the banks of the Danube and board the hydrofoil boat which will take you from Vienna to Budapest in five and a half hours (May to September).
Day 5 Full day guided tour of Budapest including the Fishermen's Bastion on the Buda side of the city and the most important sights on the Pest side such as the National Opera, the Heroes' Square and the impressive Parliament Building. Perhaps finish the tour with a sweet treat at one of Europe's most traditional cafes, the Gerbeaud. In the evening enjoy dinner at a typical Hungarian restaurant (included) with live gypsy music.
Day 6 Transfer to Budapest airport for the flight to the UK.
