Explore the rolling hills of County Wicklow with excursions to Glendalough and Avoca, plus 2 lovely gardens visits on this tour based in the bustling seaside town of Arklow. Tours are based on Sunday or Monday arrivals. For tours in July and August, we base the tour at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel. See page 36 for hotel description.

Day 1 Afternoon ferry crossing via North Wales arriving at the hotel in time for a welcome tea/coffee and biscuits.
Day 2 Travel via the wilds of the Wicklow Mountains to visit the impressively manicured gardens and the beautiful waterfall at Powerscourt Estate. Continue to the seaside town of Bray. Alternatively visit the capital city of Dublin.
Day 3 Take a scenic excursion through the Wicklow Mountains National Park. Stop at the delightful village of Glendalough, an area renowned for its natural beauty and for being the location of an early Christian monastic settlement. Continue to Avoca, brought to fame by the TV series Ballykissangel, and home to the Avoca Handweavers mill and visitor centre where mill tours can be arranged at an additional cost.
Day 4 Journey to Kildare for a visit to the Irish National Stud including a guided tour and entrance to the museum. Also visit the Japanese Gardens, acclaimed as the finest in Europe and a living monument to the meeting of Eastern and Western cultures. In the afternoon enjoy some retail therapy at Kildare Shopping Village.
Day 5 Ferry crossing via Dublin and homeward journey.
