Day 1 Channel crossing. Overnight in the Orleans area.
Day 2 Travel through the French countryside and past Limoges to arrive in Rocamadour for a 5 night stay.
Day 3 A day at leisure to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Rocamadour including its imposing mediaeval castle, monastic buildings and charming pedestrian centre. This town has been welcoming visitors and pilgrims for over 1,000 years.
Day 4 A morning visit to the historic hilltop town of Domme to take in the impressive views across the region. Continue to the pretty riverside town of La Roque-Gageac for a cruise in a traditional barge.
Day 5 Travel west, to the picturesque town of Sarlat-la-Canéda, known for its local food delicacies. The cobbled streets of the old town are full of shops and pavement cafés, as well as the Cathedral and chateau to explore. Return to Rocamadour via the mediaeval town of Souillac for a short stop to explore.
Day 6 Travel northwards to the vibrant town of Brive-la-Gaillarde. Here, enjoy the arts, crafts, and local food and drink, produced in the town. There are also interesting museums to discover, including the Edmund Michelet museum detailing life in the resistance during WWII.
Day 7 Leave Rocamadour and stop an overnight stay on the outskirts of Paris.
Day 8 Short Channel crossing to Dover and home.
