Day 1 Short Channel crossing. Overnight in Metz area.
Day 2 South through the Austrian Tyrol. Cross the Europa Bridge into Italy and then travel on to Fondo via the Delle Palade Pass.
Day 3 Full day to Lake Garda. Riva, with its harbour and maze of small streets, is worth some hours exploration.
Day 4 To Verona. See the Arena, Castelvecchio Fortress and house of Romeo and Juliet.
Day 5 Leave Italy, travelling across the Brenner Pass to visit Innsbruck. See the Golden Roof, Imperial Palace and Hofkirche. Late afternoon travel along the Inn Valley to St Anton for a 3 night stay.
Day 6 A full day at leisure in St Anton. There's lots to do in the village and it's possible to take a cable car into the mountains to enjoy lunch and stunning views.
Day 7 An excursion to Bavaria's Oberammergau with time to explore the town and its many painted houses. Return via the scenic Lechtal.
Day 8 Depart Austria, travel through Switzerland, Germany and into France for dinner and an overnight stay near Metz.
Day 9 Short Channel crossing to Dover and home.
