Day 1 Short Channel crossing. Overnight in Holland.
Day 2 Travel across Germany and into Denmark for dinner and an overnight stay near Kolding.
Day 3 Travel to Hirtshals on Denmark's south coast. Here board a fast-craft for the exciting journey across the Skagerrak Sea to Norway. Leave the port and immediately encounter fantastic Norwegian scenery during the onward journey to Vrådal, on the shore of Lake Nisser. Hotel check in for a 5 night stay.
Day 4 A day at leisure in Vrådal. The hotel has great facilities including a large panoramic terrace, lounge, indoor swimming pool and a wonderful garden that sweeps down from the hotel to the lake shore and beach.
Day 5 A full day excursion featuring the magnificent Hardangervidda Plateau, home to Europe's largest stock of reindeer. We include a visit to the fascinating World War II sabotage site at Vemork, now a museum, to learn about the partisan mission to destroy the Nazi's efforts to create ‘the bomb'. Round off the day by crossing the Telemark canal before arriving back to the hotel.
Day 6 A scenic day of the The West Telemark Round Trip. Begin with a stop in Dalen, home to The West Telemark Museum, one of Norway's largest open-air museums. Journey to the pretty 13th century Eidsborg Stave Church for an included visit. Continue the circular trip through the village of Morgedal, considered the birthplace of modern skiing.
Day 7 Today we include a boat trip on the Telemark canal, one of the World's most beautiful waterways. Sail on one of the historic vessels between Kviteseid or Spjotsodd and Lunde. This cruise of around 3 hours provides an opportunity to relax and enjoy wonderful views. En-route pass through lakes, narrow channels and 2 locks.
Day 8 Depart Vrådal and make a short photo stop at Heddal, Norway's largest Stave Church. Continue to Oslo, Norway's charming maritime capital. It offers a unique Scandinavian atmosphere and a beautiful city centre with many green spaces, monuments and historic buildings. Late afternoon leave Oslo and travel south to Horten for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9 Early morning fast-craft ferry crossing to Denmark. Proceed to the Hamburg area for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 10 Travel through Germany, into Holland and on to the North Sea coast for a relaxing overnight crossing to Hull or Harwich.
Day 11 Arrive back in the UK and travel home.
