Day 1 Channel crossing, overnight in the Metz area.
Day 2 Travel on to Switzerland and Winterthur for a 5 night stay.
Day 3 A day at leisure to explore Winterthur's many sights, including the various museums and art galleries, or simply stroll the historic old town with its pavement cafes and numerous shops. Two of the city's main parks are within an easy walk of the hotel.
Day 4 Full day excursion to Lucerne, via Zugersee and some free time in the pretty lakeshore town of Zug. In Lucerne, take time to discover the elegant old town, Lion Monument and Chapel Bridge. End the day with a relaxing cruise on Lake Lucerne is highly recommended.
Day 5 Full day exploring the region, beginning in the historic city of St Gallen with its stylish old town dominated by the Abbey of St Gall. Cross the border into Germany and on to the charming city of Constance. Explore the historic Niederburg area which is home to the main sights in the old town.
Day 6 Take the short journey to Zurich and discover the squares and alleyways of its mediaeval centre. A guided walking tour is included to enhance the visit. Travel down the length of Zurichsee and take the bridge across to Rapperswil, with time at leisure in this attractive lakeshore town.
Day 7 Leave Switzerland and stop for an overnight stay in the Metz area.
Day 8 Short Channel crossing to Dover and home.
