Yorkshire's Hidden Heritage

An undiscovered region with so much to offer. Kingston upon Hull itself boasts more than 800 years of seafaring history. This tour explores here in depth in addition to historic market towns, untamed coastline and pretty heritage seaside resorts.

Hull's Old Town • Flamborough Head • Scarbrough • Burton Constable • Beverley

Day 1 Travel to your hotel near Brigg.

Day 2 Today’s voyage of discovery is Kingston upon Hull where a guide will bring to life the city’s best-loved and most beautiful sights as well as its hidden treasures. This afternoon is at leisure to meander through Hull’s Old Town. You will also find the Hull and East Riding Museum of Archaeology with its woolly mammoth and the Hepworth Arcade, where Mr Marks and Mr Spencer had one of their first penny bazaars!

Day 3 A leisurely drive along the Yorkshire coast this morning. See Flamborough Head, a great place to visit if you want to take in some breathtaking scenery and explore the natural beauty of the region. Head on to Bridlington and Filey, a former fishing village now a popular seaside destination with an historic promenade, beautiful Edwardian architecture and an impressive five mile sandy bay. The Scarborough Fair Collection is then just a short hop away. A nostalgic visit reminds visitors of bygone years with vintage cars, steam engines, fairground rides and penny arcades. On then to wander at will in Scarborough itself.

Day 4 Today we visit Burton Constable Hall for a Potted History tour. One of Yorkshire’s most spectacular historic country houses and best kept secrets. Uncover this hidden treasure which boasts extensive grounds, 500 years of family history and over 30 rooms crammed full of art and furniture. Returning via the pretty market town of Beverley, possessing its very own Minster, like York, and historic town centre.

Day 5 Homeward journey.
